New in 2009
6/6/09 The new scoreboards are up. They will be wired this week, but will not be ready for the race this weekend. They will be ready for the July race.
5/29/09-5/31/09 We got the wire in the conduit the full length of the track, 1/4 mile on tower side, 1/8 mile on spectator side. The holes are dug for the scoreboard stands. Hopefully they will go up this weekend. Work will start again this Friday approx. 5:00 pm. We can use help if you can make it. 5/8/09
We have been working Fridays and weekends on the tower. Anyone wanting to come out and help will sure be welcome.
We have had a mouse problem in the tower for several years. The interior was stripped, insulated, sheetrocked and will be painted soon. Mouse holes were plugged.
This weekend, May 8, 9, and 10, we will be working on running new wire in conduit the full length of the track for the new scoreboards. The scoreboard stands will go up Saturday, (WE CAN USE YOUR HELP) . When they are up, everyone will be able to see E.T., speed, etc. from the starting line and grandstands.
New in 2008
We had another very successful Fund Raiser Auction in March. Thanks to all who contributed! The receipts from the sale will go to track updates to keep the track running for many more years.

We have been busy on a variety of track and facility improvements since last summer. Last fall, we sealed all the cracks in the track to keep moisture out and weeds from growing. A new return lane is being built next to the track. The grade is done, but it will not be in operation until we get guard rails the full length of the track and the lane paved. This spring we put a new steel roof on the tower, built a new bulletin board, repaired and improved fences, added signage, worked on the bleachers, and made improvements to the speaker system. And, another bonus, now you can set your radio on 99.9 FM and listen to the track announcer from your car, tow truck, or portable radio. And an improvement for Brian, the starter. He won't have to stand in the sun all day. A portable canopy had been added near the starting line to give him some shade.
